Seventy five students at St Mogue’s College in West Cavan have recently completed the ‘Words to Music’ literacy programme. The programme aims to help students with creative writing skills through writing lyrics for songs. The programme has been delivered during January, February and March by Breffni Integrated and culminated in a celebration event in April.
Breffni Integrated and the HSE are holding a SafeTALK suicide prevention training workshop in Belturbet on Thursday 25th May from 7-10pm (registration from 6.30pm). Venue to be confirmed.
SafeTALK is a 3-hour suicide alertness programme that prepares participants to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. The set of skills taught during the course may help to save lives. Participants can expect to leave SafeTALK training more willing and able to perform an important helping role for persons with thoughts of suicide.
The workshop is free and open to everyone 18 years and over. It is advised that people who have been directly affected by suicide in the last 12 months don’t attend the workshop.
